Ko wai mātou? Who are we?

Jensen Media founder, Myjanne Jensen

Jensen Media is a niche media and communications company based in Te Hiku o Te Ika (Far North, New Zealand), specialising in media coaching and training, PR and Media Relations, crisis PR and more.

What sets Jensen Media apart from other PR and communications agencies is we don’t just aim to provide ‘another’ communications service, our goal, as journalists, is to empower and teach people to become their own communications masters.

A bit like a crash course in all things media, public relations and journalism!

Through our customised programs, we train people to understand how the media works, what news values are, how to write a story pitch and media release, as well as other key skills required for effective communications and media relations.

Jensen Media was first established in October 2023 after founder and former newspaper editor, Myjanne Jensen (Ngāpuhi/Ngāti Kahu ki Whangaroa) felt there was more she could do with her skills and knowledge than just working as a traditional PR consultant.

She also recognised the need to bridge the gap between people wanting to share their story and feeling stuck and overwhelmed as to how and where to start.

When not providing PR and Media Relations services, Myjanne continues to work as a journalist and has more than a decade of experience working in newsrooms across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

Myjanne’s natural 'nose for news' and understanding of what makes a good story has meant her stories have at times led the news agenda across the country.

Over the course of her career, Myjanne has worked in print, broadcast, radio and online, for major news outlets including NZME, Whakaata Māori, NewsCorp, ABC Radio National, Scenestr, Mamamia, and more.

Myjanne also has extensive experience in PR & communications, having worked in-house for award-winning Australian developer, Springfield City Group, NZ iconic fashion designer, Annah Stretton’s Fish Digital Marketing and as a consultant to the Far North District Council’s commercial arm, Far North Holdings Ltd and Kiwa Digital.
